Building Strong Foundations Life Skills Program Launches This November

We’re proud to announce the launch of our Life Skills Program, made possible by a generous grant from the ICM Foundation. Starting this November, the program will support guests in our shelters and outreach services with practical, empowering workshops designed to build confidence, independence, and long-term stability.

Led by our compassionate Life Skills Support Worker, Prue, the programs will run every Friday and Saturday at 100 St Vincent Street and The Highway Shelter. Prue brings warmth, understanding, and a deep commitment to helping our guests thrive.

🛠️ Workshop Highlights:

  • Rent It, Keep It: Learn how to find rentals, maintain tenancy, and manage a household budget

  • Hot Meals Program: Discover how to plan meals, shop smart, and cook nutritious food

  • Job Preparation: Build resumes, write cover letters, and practice interview skills

This initiative is more than a series of workshops—it’s a pathway to empowerment. By equipping our guests with essential life skills, we’re helping them take confident steps toward secure housing, employment, and community connection.

We’re incredibly grateful to the ICM Foundation for supporting this vital work. Together, we’re building stronger futures! 💙💙💙
