6 MONTHS SINCE OPENING SAFE SHELTER

6 MONTHS since opening UPDATE!

(OK... it's been over 7... but we missed the 6 month mark with how busy we've been!)

We opened the doors to our first safe shelter on 1st November 2020 and we are proud to say that we have managed to open every single night due to the dedication, generosity, and compassion of our amazing volunteers. Our volunteers come in every night to open the shelter, welcome our guests, provide warm home cooked healthy meals, a warm shower, connection with others and a safe place to sleep each night.

As of today we have assisted 90 people who are experiencing homelessness in Ulladulla. These are not repeated guests. That's 90 individual cases in 7 months! Of these 90 people, we have provided a bed to 34. This leaves us with 56 people unable to provide accommodation to. We love our shelter, but with only 2 bedrooms that are shared between 8 people, as you can imagine, we need a bigger shelter!

Our Groundswell shelter is well underway and thanks to our amazing community coming together we are hopeful to be in by the end of the year.

If you would like to get involved, become a volunteer or help with the new building, please head over to our 'volunteer/donate' page and see how you can help!
